Courtney is a consultant to foundations and social sector organizations with a focus on the design and facilitation of complex strategic initiatives and the development of new grantmaking programs and field-building efforts.
She brings to her consulting practice over twenty years of experience. She has been a consultant to hundreds of organizations and senior leaders in the social sector and has honed her strategy skills as a member of senior leadership teams inside national and regional organizations, such as Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, the Henry P. Kendall Foundation and the Interaction Institute for Social Change.
Before launching her consulting practice, she was Senior Program Officer at the Henry P. Kendall Foundation, where she helped to create a new grantmaking program focused on food systems transformation in New England. Prior to her time at the Kendall Foundation, Courtney was the Vice President of Programs at Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, where she authored a publication on stakeholder engagement practices and developed new national and regional peer learning programs for grantmakers. Previous positions include Director of Organizational Development at Conservation International, and Senior Associate at the Interaction Institute for Social Change.
Courtney has an undergraduate degree from Brown University and a Masters degree from Union Theological Seminary. She was a member of the Leadership RI class of 2017.
